What makes a Dhakki date different?
Size and softness. A Grade A Dhakki runs past 40 grams — roughly double a commercial Medjool — with a soft, low-fibre flesh. It grows in one district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and is not cultivated commercially anywhere else.
When is the harvest?
September into November. Fruit sold outside that window is from the most recent harvest, stored cold. We say on the product page which harvest a box is from.
What do the grades mean?
Fruit weight and moisture, measured at the farm gate. Grade A is 40 g and above, Grade B is 28 to 39 g, and baking grade is mixed weights of sound fruit. Grade is a measurement, not a quality tier — Grade B is the same fruit, a size down.
How should I store them?
Cool and dry, sealed. Refrigerated, whole Dhakki dates keep well beyond a single season. They will develop a white bloom of natural sugar over time; this is not mould and the fruit is fine to eat.
Are they organic?
We don't currently hold organic certification. Write to us about our growing practices if that matters for your order.
Do you supply wholesale?
Yes. Lots are listed under Trade & Wholesale, priced by the tonne and moving weekly with the mandi.
